It may only be one day after recent elections nationwide but some familiar faces were already downtown this morning getting ready for the next election.
Seven local candidates seeking office on the 2010 ballot filed papers with the Warren County Clerk's Office Wednesday, the first day of the filing period.
Among those filing for re-election were Warren County Judge Executive Mike Buchanon, Warren County Sheriff Jerry "Peanuts" Gaines, Warren County Clerk Dot Owens", 6th District Magistrate Tim Westbrook, 3rd District Magistrate Eddie Beck, 2nd District Constable Charles A. Russell, and 1st District Constable Donnie Wilson.
"I always file on the first morning that's available to file. Today, is the first day you can file for public for public office and I was happy to come down here with my friends that I work with," says Mike Buchanon, Warren County Judge Executive.
Sheriff Gaines and Judge Buchanon had a friendly race to see who would be the first candidate to be filed Wednesday morning.
Judge Buchanon barely won and now says it's time to start campaigning.
