In an unexpected move, Inter-Modal Transpark Authority president Jim Vance tendered his resignation to the ITA board on Wednesday afternoon.

Vance has lead efforts to attract businesses to the Transpark, a controversial project since its inception. Those efforts culminated with the announcement in late 2003 that Magna International, the world's largest auto parts supplier, would be bringing 1,100 new jobs and $200 million to the local economy through the building of a new plan at the Transpark site, its first tenant.

There is no word yet on the reason for Vance's resignation. Stay tuned to WBKO for more details.
