Warren County's Judge Executive says he was surprised to learn that Intermodal Transpark Authority president Jim Vance was resigning.

In a written statement, Vance says the decision to return the primary point-of-contact for economic development responsibilities from the ITA to the Chamber of Commerce was a primary factor in his decision.

Judge Buchanon says Vance was concerned his position might be shifted to part-time or lose some of its primary job responsibilities, and at the same time, Vance received what Buchanon calls a "great offer" from a local manufacturer.

Vance will continue working with the ITA as a consultant after his resignation becomes official May 14, and in his written statement says he will continue his support of the Transpark.
