Veterans day is coming up, and Bowling Green celebrates with a parade on the square.

Veterans, various organizations, and even Big Red paraded through downtown.

One Air Force veteran says its important to thank those who served and those serving now.

"We've got a good crowd today. I'm really glad to see them and I'm glad for the support for the military because they need it more than ever. Well they've always needed it when they're on active duty, but I want to thank every one of them," said Glen Stratton, a retired Air Force vet.

Some of the paraders included Mayor Walker, Speaker of the House, Jody Richards, and the Salvation Army, which kicked off its red kettle campaign at the courthouse.
