Mammoth Cave is hosting some free activities this week.

Wednesday all active or retired military personnel and their families get free admittance to certain cave tours.

The fee waiver applies to the following: Historic, Mammoth Passage, New Entrance, and Frozen Niagara Cave Tours only.

The park is also hosting "Roots in the Cave" this upcoming weekend for civilians and military personnel alike.

November 13th through 15th is a weekend for "family research" regarding the people who lived in what is now Mammoth Cave National Park.

There's something for anyone who is interested in the history, preservation, or genealogy within Hart, Barren, Edmonson counties.

All workshops and hikes are free of charge.

The program begins at 6:30pm Friday night with a workshop on finding ancestors through records of the Civil and Mexican wars.
