Astronauts Inspect Space Shuttle In Case Of Damage
The six astronauts on the space shuttle Atlantis have finished inspecting the exterior of the spacecraft for any signs of damage from yesterday's launch.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) -- The six astronauts on the space shuttle Atlantis have finished inspecting the exterior of the spacecraft for any signs of damage from yesterday's launch.
They spent much of their first full day in orbit studying the shuttle's thermal shielding, with the help of a 100-foot, laser-tipped boom. It was routine work, but it took hours to complete.
Flight director Mike Sarafin says the survey didn't turn up any obvious problems. But he says experts will need to go through the data.
A quick look at the images from yesterday's launch also shows nothing to be worried about.
Atlantis and its crew will hook up with the space station tomorrow.
Atlantis is delivering big spare parts to the space station -- nearly 15 tons' worth.
