Another local lawmaker has filed his papers seeking reelection to office in 2010.
U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield, Republican for Kentucky's First District, filed papers with the State Board of Elections Tuesday.
The Congressman announced his plans to seek reelection back in June.
He is currently in his eighth term representing the First District.
Whitfield has stood against new health care and climate change legislation, saying the latter would make energy prices soar and hurt the coal industry our state relies on.
Representative Whitfield has $1 million in the bank going into the next campaign.
