The senate's new health care reform bill is being praised by President Barack Obama and members of his party but senate Republicans led by Minority Leader Mitch McConnell say, it's a tough pill to swallow.

The Kentucky senator says his democratic colleagues continue to draft new legislation without listening to the American public.

Republicans vow to block passage of the measure and McConnell says the bill's projected savings are wrong too.

"According to the CBO, federal health care spending will actually go up, not down as a result of this mammoth effort to rewrite one-sixth of our economy," says Sen. Mitch McConnell, (R) Minority Leader.

The Democratic National Committee has stated McConnell is trying to slow down urgently needed reforms.
