'Tis the season for giving and the Louisville Salvation Army is thankful they were the lucky recipients of a generous donation.
Within the last couple days an anonymous donor left a 1977 South African gold coin in one of the Army's red kettles.
The coin is worth at least $1100.
The Salvation Army says the gift will help them to meet its goal of raising $500,000 this holiday season to help people who are in need throughout the year.
