A candlelight service was held in memory of those children who have died from neglect or abuse.
"Each year 30 kids in Kentucky are killed by abuse, so we've got 30 pairs of shoes laid out to symbolize those young children's lives," said Will Constable of CASA.
The memorial was sponsored by CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate and the Family Enrichment Center. Both organizations are dedicated to protecting children and both wanted the candlelight service to create a light of hope in the darkness.
