Some animal lovers spent Saturday protecting their pets from rabies.
The Warren County Veterinary Association and the Barren River District Health Department set up eight locations throughout the area to administer rabies vaccinations for only five dollars an animal.
One veterinarian says the rabies vaccination clinic was held to raise awareness of the disease, which has recently been found in South Central Kentucky.
"We just had a case in Barren County of a rabid bat and last year in Rockfield I found a skunk that was rabid so every now and then it raises it's ugly head", says Veterinarian Don Denton.
Denton says another goal of the clinic was to encourage responsible pet ownership.
