A two-vehicle collision in Western Kentucky forced the evacuation of about 300 people on April 29, 2007, when a gas regulator was broken in the wreck.
Hopkinsville Police Sergeant Greg Koehler said authorities received a call this morning about the collision and gas leak. He said about 300 people in a four-block area were evacuated from their homes for about two hours.
At least two people were injured in the wreck, Koehler said, but the injuries were non-life threatening.
Atmos Energy spokesman Greg Coker said an employee of the utility had been driving by near the time of the accident and shut off the gas from two nearby homes.
