Two days after a Western Kentucky University professor is murdered, the news is still sending shockwaves through the community.
Police have released surveillance photos of Martha "Bettina" Richmond leaving Bowling Green Parks and Recreation building Sunday night.
In the photos, Richmond is seen carrying a gray and black sports fitness duffle bag, which police are now trying to locate.
She had been there playing racquetball prior to being found in her tan colored Honda Odyssey just a few hours later.
Warren County Commonwealth Attorney Chris Cohron says the search to find Dr. Richmond's killer has law enforcement working overtime.
"The entire investigative division of Bowling Green Police Department is currently running down lots of information in regards to the pending investigation," says Cohron.
Right now, information is developing on an ongoing basis... leaving police with a lot to sort through.
Those who live and work near Parks and Rec are also sorting through the emotions of having a murder take place in their own back yard.
"Sure it concerns us greatly because the families that we serve and their friends that visit this area. Its a priority for us to know that we are safe in this area," says Cedric Burnam.
Burnam owns Burnam & Son Mortuary, which is a block away from Parks and Rec.
He says at times there can be a lot of people walking the area near the river, especially at night.
But he's never heard of any violent crimes occurring.
"We're fortunate that we don't have a lot of crime in this area. The BGPD and all other law enforcement agencies do a good job of patrolling this area."
Warren County Coroner Kevin Kirby says an autopsy has been completed and preliminary results are expected to be released early next week.
