Eastern Kentucky soldiers deploy

More than 100 National Guard Soldiers from across Eastern Kentucky are on their way to Arizona this evening for an assignment on the border.

The Mountain Warriors made it back safe to Eastern Kentucky from Iraq last June. The soldiers will now train in Phoenix for three days before heading to Yuma where they will stay for three weeks.

Six-thousand National Guard troops throughout the United States have been mobilized to keep watch at the nation's borders while the U.S. government continues an ongoing debate over immigration control and how to deal with illegal immigrants.
