People traveled to Woodburn on Saturday for good food and good deals, and to learn a little about Woodburn's strawberry history.
"Woodburn and Smiths Grove were the strawberry capitals of the whole United States. More strawberries were shipped out of these two towns than any other town in the entire country", said Rod McCurry, the Strawberry Festival Founder.
McCurry also said this tradition inspired the name of the festival when he started it nine years ago. The city of Woodburn took over the festival two years later and it's still going strong.
