A Richardsville family is without a place to live after fire destroyed part of their house.
Shonda Tibbs said she was getting ready for dinner when one of her children yelled that there was a fire in the back of their house. Tibbs said she tried to put it out and it wasn't until she went outside that she realized her entire house was engulfed in flames. At that point she said her biggest concern was protecting her family.
"I have four kids so this one right here did a really good job getting everybody out for me," Tibbs said.
Tibbs said her family will probably stay at her mother's house for now.
The Richardsville Fire Department responded to the fire around 3:30 p.m. on May 9, 2007, on North Campbell Road. Officials said the fire may have been caused by a grounded wire, but it's still under investigation.
