Army Attempts to Keep Mid-Level Officers

The Army is preparing to offer new incentives to keep mid-level officers.

General George Casey said the Army must be organized and equipped to deal with the challenge of extended combat, having already been stretched thin by five years of war.

Casey does say on the other hand, he’s not suggesting that the Iraq and Afghanistan wars will last five more years.

The Army will unveil its plan next week, which will give some captains $20,000 to stay on.
