Art Tour Makes History

Bowling Green's first public art project, Windows on Preservation, kicked off Wednesday morning. The event included a short presentation, Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and live entertainment by Banjor Bill and Dax Evans.

Local artists submitted more than thirty designs to compete for the twenty locations that are all within walking distance of the downtown square. Locations include Riverfront Park, Fountain Square, and the Warren County Courthouse and local businesses and residences.

Artists were encouraged to keep the history of Bowling Green in mind when designing their pieces. The artwork is a mix of student, amateur and professional works. Walking tour brochures are available at area businesses through the month of many. On June 4, the pieces will be auctioned off at Ellis Place in Bowling Green.
