Health Department Wants to Hear What You Have to Say

The Barren River District Health Department wants to hear about your family's health.

The health department will be conducting an online survey, during the next four weeks. The survey is called The Everybody Survey. This survey is designed to learn about opinions and experiences with the local health care system from people who live in the Barren River Area.

Anyone living in the Barren River Area is encouraged to take the time to participate in the survey and have his or her voice heard.

If you know anyone without Internet access who wants to participate in this survey, let them know that there are dedicated computers available at the public libraries throughout the 10 county district (Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson and Warren Counties). The health department will also conduct face-to-face surveys, interviews and focus groups throughout the district as a way to reach people not able to participate in the online survey. Paper copies of the survey will be available at your local health department.

This survey is part of a two-year community health assessment called The Big Listen. The assessment is designed to gather information from area residents about personal and environmental health issues affecting his or her quality of life and the local community.

The goal is to get 10,000 people over the age of 18 to take the survey. The survey should only take 15-20 minutes to complete and will help identify the strengths and weaknesses within the communities.

Please tell your family and friends about this survey and encourage them to participate.
