Beech Bend Park owner Dallas Jones remains behind bars on a contempt of court charge stemming from the ongoing Beech Bend Road dispute.
Jones and former Court of Appeals Judge Matt Baker have been locked in a legal battle over ownership of a disputed 900-feet section of Beech Bend Road for almost a year.
In August, Special Judge Tyler Gill ordered that the disputed road not be altered in any way until the case is resolved. Tuesday, Gill ruled Jones had violated that order by paving a section of the roadway.
Jones says his construction crew was paving a section of the road inside the park, and ended up with a partial load of asphalt left. Jones says he instructed the workers to spread out the remaining asphalt on the road, but did not intend to violate the order.
In his ruling, Judge Gill said the 30-day jail sentence imposed on Jones was to combat the "growing anarchy" displayed in the case.
Jones' attorneys say they will appeal the decision.
