The Bowling Green/Warren County Planning and Zoning Commission approved a rezoning measure for the last major piece of Transpark land Tuesday night.
The commission approved the rezoning of a 330-acre plot of land in northern Warren County from Agriculture to Light Industrial and Heavy Industrial designation.
The four-hour hearing included testimony from Transpark witnesses who said the rezoning would allow for the potential creation of thousands of new jobs. Transpark opponents testified they believe the development could harm the environment and take away farmland.
The commission has previously approved two similar rezoning issues for other large parcels of Transpark land. The previous hearings have lasted 22 and 12 hours respectively, and each decision has been appealed.
Transpark officials say they are in negotiations with a client interested in the land in question, a client they say is close to the size of Transpark tenant Magna International.
