A hotel in downtown Louisville, Ky., has been axed from plans for the new Louisville arena.
The Louisville Arena Authority made the decision on May 21, 2007, after hearing from the project’s architect and financial consultant.
The architect said the 425-room hotel would have taken up 35 percent of the project site and would have restricted access to Main Street.
The financial consultant went on to say the hotel isn’t financially necessary. Meanwhile, construction on the arena is scheduled to start next summer and be completed in 2010.
