A Glasgow, Ky., man is sentenced in federal court on May 24, 2007, for illegally selling wild ginseng.
Lawrence T. Faith of 850 Bulldog Road was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay $25 in court costs. He had sold the ginseng without an export certificate outside the legal purchase season of September 1 to March 31.
Three years ago, Faith was sentenced to two years probation for stealing ginseng roots from Mammoth Cave National Park.
Those roots were valued at $1,000. Officials say charges may be filed against other persons in this latest wild ginseng selling crime.
