Federal health officials are trying to head off a possible outbreak of tuberculosis tonight.
A man with a rare and dangerous form of the disease may have infected fellow passengers on two airline flights.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control said the man infected with “extensively drug resistant TB” flew from Atlanta to Paris on Air France Flight 385, arriving May 13.
He then flew from Prague to Montreal on Czech Flight 410, arriving on May 24.
The CDC believes the man was not highly infectious when he flew. Still, officials are tracking down passengers and urging those who sat near the man to be tested for TB.
