The cost of diesel fuel for shipping and freight trucks is forcing them to pass on the higher prices.
Local businesses like Jimmy Diemer's Grocery don't like the idea of charging their customers more so, for now, they are absorbing the costs.
Jimmy Diemer says, "It costs me more. And we’re trying to absorb as much as we can. But eventually we're gonna have to pass it on."
Diemer says his last shipment had a fuel surcharge of almost $15. That's about 30 cents a mile. But if prices continue to skyrocket the surcharge could also increase.
