Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense is skipping the Belmont Stakes.
His trainer said instead of seeking the third leg of the Triple Crown, the colt will try to capture the Travers Stakes and Breeder’s Cup Classic later this year.
Street Sense roared to victory in the Derby four weeks ago, but lost to Curlin by a head in the Preakness two weeks later.
Trainer, Carl Nafzger said he and owner, James Tafel spoke for two hours last night before making a decision.
