Fletcher to Call Special Session

Offering domestic partner benefits to employees at public universities could be one of the issues discussed in the special legislative session.

Governor Ernie Fletcher plans to call lawmakers into session in late June. Fletcher will ask state legislators to approve an energy bill that would include tax incentives for firms considering expanding into Kentucky. He may also ask lawmakers to consider approving $370 million worth of construction projects at state universities.

Fletcher said he still has to talk to some legislatures about a convenient date for the session.
