Toothpaste Recall

The government is warning consumers to avoid using toothpaste made in China.

The toothpaste may contain a poisonous chemical used in antifreeze.

The Food and Drug Administration advises people to throw away any toothpaste with labeling saying it was made in China.

The antifreeze substance was found in four products made in China.

Those products are:
- Cooldent fluoride
- Cooldent spearmint
- Cooldent ice
- and Shir Fresh mint fluoride paste.

The agency is not aware of any poisoning from the toothpaste in the U.S., but it did find antifreeze in a shipment at the border and in two retail stores: one in Miami and another in Puerto Rico.

Officials say the toothpaste is primarily sold at discount retail outlets.
