Golf Groundbreaking

Mayor Sandy Jones, City Commissioner Alan Palmer and officials from the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department, along with other dignitaries, gathered to witness the groundbreaking of a new Pro Shop located in Hobson Grove's Golf Course.

The new Pro Shop is being built to replace the one that burned down in December 2002. Ernie Gouvas, Bowling Green Park and Recreation Director, said Tuesday marks the first time a significant investment has been made in this part of Bowling Green.

Golf officials applied for a USGA grant for junior golf last fall. They were awarded thirty $500 to start this program. The junior golf clinics are for youth from the ages of eight to 18 years old.
