A recent study on health performance ranks Kentucky 45th out of the 50 states. Now some businesses are encouraging their employees to live healthier lifestyles.
Here in Bowling Green, the law firm of English, Lucas, Priest, and Owsley recently ended a 12-week Better Life Challenge through The Medical Center.
More than 25 people participated in the program which consisted of physical activity and educational programs.
The participants picked a partner and competed against the other teams.
"When you're on your own doing something like that it's a little harder having that discipline, but having that partner - it's an accountability partner - really helped us to stay on track," participant, Travis Armstrong said.
As a group, the participants lost more than 120 pounds. They said that's like a person they don't miss!
