The man accused of killing an Eastern Kentucky police chief said he would trade his own life to bring the chief back.
Jamie Barnett is accused of shooting Clay City Police Chief Randy Lacy from the back seat of Lacy’s squad car.
Powell County Coroner Carl Wells said the gun was fired once from the back seat and the bullet passed through a barrier before hitting Lacy.
Barnett was charged with murder in Lacy’s death and is scheduled to be arraigned on June 15, 2007.
The Bowling Green Police Honor Guard and Motorcycle Unit will be going to Lacy’s funeral.
