Edmonson County man charged with rape

An Edmonson County man is behind bars after allegedly raping a child over a four year period.

Officials with the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office served an indictment warrant on Johnny Coates Thursday.

Coates is charged with 10 counts of rape, 10 counts of sodomy, 20 counts of incest and 10 counts of sex abuse with a minor.

Authorities say the alleged offenses took place between 2004 and 2008.

Coates is in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
