The funeral for an eastern Kentucky police chief killed in the line attracted hundreds of law enforcement officers to a high school gymnasium Sunday, June 17, 2007.
Squad cars from Paducah in the west to Pikeville in the east lined the parking lot of Powell County High School.
They came to pay their respects to Randy Lacy, Clay City's chief and lone police officer.
Lacy died after he was shot in his squad car Wednesday while making a D-U-I arrest.
Two fire trucks with ladders hoisted a giant American flag marking the entrance to the high school.
The suspect in Lacy's death, 37-year-old Jamie Barnett, is being held without bond on a murder charge.
