A separate police chase in Nicholasville allegedly caused a five car pile up.

An officer there also happened to be at the right place at the right time filling up his station car at the Speedway near the Zandale Shopping Center.

That's when a car at the station quickly sped away. When the officer began following the car it sped up

"Before we could catch up to the car...the car went through the next intersection...he hit this vehicle as he ran the red light..the first vehicle...and then after he hit that one he bounced off the other one and hit all the other ones coming in the opposite direction."

Fortunately no one was hurt and when authorities arrested the man they discovered he was driving a stolen car and had warrants for his arrest in Louisville.

The suspect has been identified as Kerry Russell Jones who already has outstanding warrants on charges of assault on a police officer and escaped.
