You may still be wondering the best way to officially kick off your new year, but for several in Bowling Green, the only way to get 2010 started was to donate blood.
An American Red Cross group out of Nashville came out to the Bowling Green Donation Center Friday morning to hold a blood drive.
They say everytime they visit in Bowling Green, the turnout is always great.
"I think people, maybe they just really start thinking during the holiday season," said Helen Reasonover, Team Leader for the American Red Cross. "They know that there is more of a need, there's more travelers on the street, more wrecks that can wipe out a shelf of blood right there."
January and February are important times to donate, and there are several more chances to do so.
The next opportunity will be this Sunday from one until five at Faith United Methodist Church here in Bowling Green.
