The combination of clear skies and a north wind have created dangerously cold wind chills again this morning. Although sunshine is expected to warm highs into the low-to-mid 20s, a light north wind will keep wind chill readings in the lower-teens this afternoon.

Below, is the latest statement from the National Weather Service:

...WIND CHILL VALUES AGAIN AROUND ZERO THIS MORNING...

ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE OVER SOUTH CENTRAL CANADA CONTINUES TO AFFECT
SOUTHERN INDIANA AND CENTRAL KENTUCKY. NORTHWESTERLY WINDS OF 5 TO
10 MPH ARE COMBINING WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE SINGLE DIGITS TO
LOWER TEENS TO GENERATE WIND CHILLS AROUND ZERO. FOR THOSE
VENTURING OUTSIDE THIS MORNING...MAKE SURE AND WEAR SEVERAL LAYERS
OF CLOTHING AS WELL AS PROTECTIVE HEAD GEAR.

THESE LOW READINGS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE UNTIL LATE
MORNING...WHEN THE SUN WILL HELP TO BRING TEMPERATURES INTO THE
LOWER 20S. HOWEVER WITH CONTINUED WINDS THROUGH THE DAY...WIND
CHILL VALUES ARE NOT EXPECTED TO RISE MUCH ABOVE THE MID TEENS.

Anyone, who must be outside for extended periods of time, is urged to take precautionary measures to protect exposed areas from frostbite.
