Dr. Alton Little Receives National Jefferson Award

A man who was instrumental in improving Bowling Green’s Parks and Recreation areas is in Washington D.C. the night of June 19, 2007, to receive a National Jefferson Award.

Doctor Alton Little was one of four South Central Kentucky Jefferson Award Recipients, honored in April 2007.

On June 19, he’s attended a gala dinner and national ceremony.

Doctor Little is a retired minister who taught P.E. and recreation at WKU for 31 years. He also founded Mended Hearts, a support group in Bowling Green for people who’ve had major open heart surgery.

The Jefferson Awards were created in 1972 to honor individuals for their achievements through community service.
