Hughes and Coleman kicked off their semi-annual kids are special, Safety Awareness Day.
Nine years ago the idea of this event took place. J. Marshall Hughes said that Lee Coleman was one of the main inspirations for this day.
Hughes says before this idea was conceived, Coleman was involved in a bike accident. The helmet he was wearing helped prevent serious injury. Therefore, the law office felt a need to teach kids on bike safety.
Hughes & Coleman also strived to let kids know law enforcement officers are friendly and they’re to help them. Police officers and fire fighters helped bring awareness to the kids.
The fair provided fun, food, and activities for the many kids that attended. Along with bike safety, they also learned about fire safety.
