It was all about women on June 22, 2007, at a meeting in Bowling Green. The Networking Women Organization held one of their monthly luncheons, but the way these women got through the door was by “paying a toll” to support other women.
They were encouraged to bring personal care items or donate money to the Barren River Area Safe Space, which is a domestic violence shelter for women and children.
“We’re an organization - about 75 strong - so we felt like that if each of us just contributed a little, it would help a lot - especially in the area where they have a shortage right now,” said Regina Byrd, president of the Networking Women Organization.
The group supports a number of efforts and organizations in Bowling Green. They said they enjoy making a difference in the lives of others.
