Five American soldiers have been killed and seven wounded in an attack on their combat patrol in Southern Baghdad.
The military said the attack happened on June 28, 2007.
A roadside bomb was set off and attackers followed up with small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades.
One of the seven wounded soldiers has returned to duty.
A military statement said the soldiers’ unit continues to conduct “clearing operations” in Southern Baghdad.
