Warren County's former County Attorney was arrested Friday night and charged with DUI and driving without a license.
Mike Caudill was arrested by Kentucky State Police around 7:30 p.m. after his red 2000 Ford pickup truck collided with a tree in the 1900 block of Plano Road.
Sources close to the case tell WBKO that Caudill's truck ran through a cornfield and then back across the road before hitting the tree, just pass a sharp curve in the road.
Caudill spent less than six hours in the Warren County Jail before being released on $643 bond. Police are awaiting the results of a blood test, which are expected back in the next few days.
Caudill's attorney David Broderick reached at his office Saturday afternoon could only confirm the charges, but declined to make any further comment.
Caudill served as County Attorney for more than 25 years before resigning in late March in the midst of a state investigation into allegations he misused public funds. The results of that investigation are still pending.
