Jury selection is underway for a man who will stand trial for murder.

144 potential jurors stood before Judge John Grise this morning in the case of Lawrence Stinnett, 50.

Stinnett, who is representing himself as his own attorney, is accused of killing Chrstina Renshaw back in February of 2006.

Stinnett will make opening and closing statements, respond to objections, and call and examine witnesses during the trial - in which a death sentence could be handed down.

Jury selection is expected to last through next Tuesday.
