Despite the empty classrooms you'll find around Warren County, the equipment is still being used to help fight cancer.
Recently, the Warren County school system teamed up with the University of Louisville's Cancer Center. It's part of a new program called Dataseam. Basically the center will use the school system's unused computer power to analyze hundreds of possible drugs that could prevent cancer.
Researchers say they hope to increase the effectiveness of cancer fighting drugs and reduce negative side effects often associated with the treatment of the disease. The Warren County school system is the second school in the state to participate in the program.
