White House Press Room Reopens After a Face Lift

The new media room has been called sleek, with no-frills. President Bush presided over this morning’s ribbon cutting ceremony.

“I can already tell this place in improved. The last time I was in here for a press conference I broke out into a sweat, not because of your questions, but because of the climate. The A.C. seems to work well. I hope the facility suits your needs,” Bush mentioned.

The briefing room backdrop now has flat screen monitors and rotating decals. Press Secretary Tony Snow will hold the first press conference in the new room later on July 10, 2007, even though some work still needs to be done.
