A Kentucky State Police trooper who was suspended after a Fourth of July wreck in Northern Kentucky, now faces criminal charges in the case.
Officials said a Grant County grand jury indicted 38-year-old Larry Carey of Dry Ridge on assault and drunken-driving charges on July 11, 2007.
Carey and four other people were hospitalized after the wreck.
The trooper was in the news last year after he pulled over Oprah Winfrey during a cross-country trip that was featured on her talk show.
