As part of an ongoing investigation, the State Fire Marshall’s Office dismantles a Cave City hotel pool.
Back in June, 35-year-old Billy Murray and 12-year-old Whitney Murray sustained injures caused by an “electrical malfunction” at the Quality Inn pool.
Since the incident, the pool has been temporarily closed to hotel guests. The morning of July 17, 2007, the State Fire Marshall’s Office began the process of disassembling the pool.
Electrical inspector, Jim Thomas said they’re hoping to determine what caused the malfunction so it doesn’t happen again. Thomas expects the investigation will take a couple of days to complete.
The victims’ attorney and the hotel’s representatives and attorney were also on hand for the investigation on July 17.
