Local Businessman Gets Prison Sentence

A Bowling Green businessman who failed to pay more than $140,000 in federal income taxes was sentenced time in prison on July 19, 2007 .

Fifty-nine-year-old Gregory Rogers was sentenced to one-year in prison and three-years of supervised release following his incarceration.

Rogers previously pleaded guilty to two counts of tax evasion and two counts of failing to file Federal Income Tax Returns in 2000 and 2001.

Rogers owed nearly $500,000 in corporate taxes he didn't pay on Rogpex Inc., Inner-Vision Communications and Adam Paul and Co.

The U.S. Attorney's office said Rogers illegally used business funds to pay personal expenses including a 1998 Jaguar, a 2001 Mustang, a swimming pool and a condo.
