Grant Helps Energy Company Come to Kentucky

One of the issues Fletcher wanted discussed in the special session was a tax incentive to bring a coal to gas plant to Kentucky.

The Gleaner of Henderson reports a state grant is helping an international engineering company study the possibility of building a coal gasification plant in Western Kentucky.

The Governor’s Office of Energy Policy recently awarded a grant of up to $200,000 to URS Corp. The study will look at feasibility of a plant in Henderson or Union Counties.

Nineteen potential sites have been identified around Kentucky for plants to convert coal into liquid or gaseous fuels.
