The Kentucky Court of Appeals returns its decision concerning the contested Tompkinsville mayoral race, but its still not clear just yet who the mayor will be.
Beverly McClendon seemingly won the election by one vote. But his opponent, Jerry Hodges, disputed the results and sought to have the election thrown out.
And that's exactly what the Monroe County Circuit Court ruled. But then McClendon filed an appeal. The Ky. Court of Appeals has determined that only the walk-in and absentee ballots in question should be thrown out, which would secure a victory for Hodges.
The case will be sent back to Monroe Circuit Court for a final decision, although McClendon could appeal this ruling as well.
