Kentucky service-members on deployment can find even more support thanks to a new trust fund .
Kentucky Military Family Assistance Trust Fund, or K.M. Fast, will provide up to $5000 in a 12-month period for emergencies and hardships that are directly caused by deployment outside of the U.S.
The fund is set-up as a grant and is intended to be used as a last resort for assistance. Military members can request funds for necessary expenses such as housing, utilities, groceries, insurance and child care.
Soldiers who have recently returned from deployment have an additional 90-days to apply for assistance with K.M. Fast.
Service-men-and-women don't have to pay back money received from the trust fund.
